18 Last-Minute Holiday Deals on Games, Headphones, and More

It’s the weekend before you-know-what, and that means lots of last-minute shopping. Or, if you’ve actually planned things, that means kicking back and watching everyone else do their last-minute shopping. I’m firmly in the first category. Is it really the holiday season if you’re not doing all your shopping just days before?

Shipping times were already inflated due to y’know, the pandemic, but now every retailer is even more backlogged than ever before. That means some of the items on this list won’t arrive until after Christmas, so double-check expected shipping times before confirming your purchases. You should also peruse through our Last-Minute Gifts Ideas guide as we’ve curated a few items that purportedly will arrive before December 25. With that said, here are our favorite weekend deals on games, home appliances, and Baby Yoda socks.

Check out our Best Gaming Laptops, Best Gaming Mouse, and Best Wireless Headsets for other recommendations.

  • Razer Blade 15 for $1,350 ($450 off): The Blade 15 is one of our favorite gaming laptops and for good reason. It’s thin, it’s light, it’s powerful—and most importantly—it looks cool as hell.

  • Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for $60 ($10 off): The Switch Pro remains one of our favorites controllers of all time. It just feels great in the hand, and offers a level of comfort and responsiveness that’s hard to get out of the standard Switch Joy-Cons. (You’ll see the discount at checkout.)

  • Razer Viper Ultralight Wired Mouse for $40 ($40 off): If you’re looking for a straightforward (and ambidextrous) gaming mouse, the Razer Viper is a great choice. It feels normal enough to get you through a standard workday, but feels snappy and satisfying enough to really enhance your PC gaming.

  • HyperX Pulsefire Surge Wired Mouse for $40 ($15 off): This is a solid all-around mouse that’s in our Best Gaming Mouse guide, now with a more reasonable price. You can customize the RGB lighting (or turn it off), it’s comfortable to use, and you’ll get quick response times.

  • Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Switch) for $20 ($40 off): It’s not a new game, but it is fun and charming. Imagine a turn-based shooter but almost everyone is rabbits dressed as Mario characters. That’s Mario + Rabbids in a nutshell, and it’s so fun.

  • HyperX Cloud Alpha S Wired Gaming Headset for $100 ($30 off): The HyperX Cloud Alpha S is a killer headset. It produces crisp immersive sound and fits comfortably over your ears for long periods of time without getting sweaty or uncomfy.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 (Xbox One, PS4) for $30 ($30 off): Spend the holidays in the old West! Explore scenic vistas and embark on a grim and often depressing adventure as you struggle to find meaning in a world that has outgrown you. Yes, that’s really what it’s about. Yes, it’s actually fun.

  • Western Digital 5-TB External Hard Drive for $100 ($80 off): It’s never a bad idea to back up important files, photos, videos, and other media, but it’s sometimes tough to remember which cloud service backed up which device. External drives like this one make for an easy and convenient place to store old photos and your ancient MP3 collection.
